FILMROLL SUPPORT

How can we help?

Find clear answers to common questions about creating your photoshoot, managing your photos, and using FilmRoll.

Getting started

What is FilmRoll?

FilmRoll is an AI photoshoot app that turns a portrait you choose into a cohesive series of stylized images. Select a visual style, request a film roll, and review or export your results.

How do I create my first photoshoot?

Open FilmRoll, choose a photo of yourself (or someone who has given you permission), select your visual style, review your photoshoot settings, and start generation. Available options and steps may vary by app version.

Do I need to write AI prompts?

No. FilmRoll handles the creative direction for the selected style. If your version offers additional instructions, you can use them to personalize the result.

Who can use FilmRoll?

FilmRoll is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Only submit photos you have permission to use, including permission for AI transformation.

Photoshoots & styles

Which photo should I upload?

Choose a sharp, well-lit portrait with a clearly visible face. Avoid heavily filtered, blurry, or very small images. Only the photo you select is submitted for processing; FilmRoll does not upload your whole gallery.

Which visual styles are available?

The previews include Classic B&W 35mm, 1960s European Cinema, Old Hollywood, 1990s Documentary, Fashion Editorial, and Vintage Family Album. Available choices may vary by version and may change over time.

Will my generated portrait look exactly like me?

FilmRoll is designed around your source portrait, but AI results can vary. Facial details, clothing, hairstyle, lighting, or background may change. A perfect match or a particular result cannot be guaranteed.

Why is photo generation taking longer than expected?

Generation requires an internet connection and can take longer during provider delays or high demand. Keep the app connected and check whether the request completes before starting a new one. If it repeatedly fails, contact support with the approximate time and any request ID.

Can I retake a generated photo?

Retakes are available where included in the pack or feature you selected. The amount you can use is shown in the relevant offer; a retake can produce a different result.

Your library

Where are my photos saved?

FilmRoll supports saving photos and library content locally on your device. Some generation and recovery flows may also temporarily use cloud storage. Do not assume your library is automatically backed up or synchronized across devices.

How do I save or share my images?

Open a completed photo roll and use the available save or export option. Saving to your device gallery may require storage permissions. Once exported, you control the copies shared with other apps or services.

Will my photos be there if I change phones?

Not necessarily. Some FilmRoll files live only on your current device. Export important images before uninstalling the app, clearing its data, or switching phones.

Packs & purchases

Is FilmRoll a subscription?

No. Where paid features are enabled, FilmRoll offers one-time packs with the photo or retake allowance displayed at purchase. These packs do not auto-renew. The Google Play checkout shows the final localized price and terms.

I purchased a pack but did not receive it. What should I do?

First, confirm the transaction was completed in Google Play and that you are signed into the same FilmRoll account. If your allowance is still missing, contact support with the Google Play order ID, approximate purchase date, and account email. Never send payment-card numbers or sign-in codes.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds follow applicable consumer law and Google Play's policies. Start with the Google Play refund process for a store purchase. You can also contact us about a missing purchase or failed paid generation. Read the purchase terms.

Account & privacy

Are my photos used to train AI?

Day1Apps does not use your uploaded or generated photos to train its own AI models. Online generation sends the selected photo and required information to the configured AI provider, which may apply its own retention and safety practices. Read about photo processing.

How can I delete my FilmRoll account?

Open Settings → Account → Delete account in the app and confirm. You can also request account deletion using our support form. Account verification may be required. See the full deletion instructions.

Can I remove access to my photos?

Manage FilmRoll's photo-picker or photo-library permissions in your device settings. You can choose not to use online generation. Removing access may prevent related features from working.

Troubleshooting

My image will not upload. What can I try?

Try a clear image in a commonly supported format, check your network connection and app permissions, and restart FilmRoll. If it persists, tell us the device model, app version, and error message using the support form.

Why did my photoshoot fail or get rejected?

Requests can fail because of connectivity, service availability, unsupported source images, or provider safety rules. If you believe an error is incorrect, contact support with the request ID and description. Do not include unnecessary sensitive photos.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Use our Send feedback form. Choose “Support” for problems or “Feature request” for an idea. Include enough detail for us to understand the issue or suggestion.
